Richard Reno
Richard Reno has served as Mayor of Midlothian since January 2019. He has been president and owner of Omega Air for 30 years. Located in Downtown Midlothian, Omega Air is the industry leader in providing major airlines worldwide with software used to plan and schedule commercial aircraft maintenance.
Mayor Reno was born and raised in Dallas County, residing in Oak Cliff and Richardson. He and his wife Tammy, moved their business to and established their family in Midlothian in 1996. Reno graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a two-time recipient of the Aggie 100 Award.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Reno has been active in civic, church, and community activities for many years.
Reno’s passion for Midlothian and excitement about its future potential, led him to seek the position as mayor. He and the City Council have worked hard to maintain the quality of services provided to Midlothian citizens, while at the same time ease the tax burden. He states, “I believe the best results are accomplished when we all work together for a common vision, listening to different voices, and finding sensible solutions for challenges. I believe in the value of a multitude of counselors to gain advisement regarding the needs of the residents and business owners in this community, so that we can continue to be the best small town in Texas, no matter how big we grow.”
